Conforce, Ariwo, Space Afrika, Burnt Friedman & Mohammad Reza Mortazavi

Ariwo means "Noise" in Yoruba. The band brings together acclaimed Iranian electronic composer, Pouya Ehsaei; Carlos Acosta and Irakere’s Latin Grammy winning Afro-Cuban 'percussion virtuoso' Hammadi Valdes; figurehead of London's Cuban music scene, Oreste Noda; and Ropeadope’s Canadian Jazz trumpeter, Jay Phelps.

"Formidably integrated. A sonic terra incognita guided only by a hypnotic and dub-wise focus on forward motion" -- The Wire: Adventures In Modern Music

Burnt Friedman is one of Germany’s most long established and highly rated electronic musicians with a career spanning almost 40 years. He has collaborated with the likes of Jaki Liebezeit (CAN), Mark Ernestus (Basic Channel), Steve Jansen & David Sylvian (from cult band, Japan) and also under the band names Atom™ and Flanger. For this show Burnt is showcasing a new collaboration with Iran’s leading Tombak player, Mohammad Reza Mortazavi.

"What Mortazavi and Friedman have in common is their shared expertise in uneven, cyclical rhythms – the foundation of their trance-like art music, which is both subtle and ecstatic.” --

Revered dutch producer/DJ Boris Bunnik is best know for aliases Conforce (techno) and Versalife (electro). Releasing through Delsin, Clone and Rush Hour he has been a pillar of Dutch electronic music for the last decade - always bringing clarity, space and momentum to his productions and legendary DJ sets.

Known for their NTS shows and incredible new album ’somewhere decent to live’ (one of Boomkat's albums of 2018) this duo from Manchester offer a fresh take on functional, atmospheric, dubbed-out, techno goodness.
