"Ìfé" is the Yoruban word for ‘love’ and ‘expansion’, both of which are pivotal themes in their breakthrough track 3 Mujeres (Iború Iboya Ibosheshé). They are lead by Mark Underwood: an African-American who defected to the Caribbean where he picked up Spanish & Yoruba before being initiated as a Babalawo priest in Cuba.

Mark has one of the most eclectic musical upbringings we've ever heard of; raised on Indiana funk, Texas blues, indie rock, Dallas hip hop & soul, Jamaican dancehall, Cuban Rumba, and the sacred music of the Orishas.
